SAFETY DAY WORKSHOPS
PLAN with PRECISION
8 am to 9 am
High-performing teams start every day with a strong plan that considers every aspect of every task upfront. Early task planning provides opportunities to develop effective risk controls. Project teams must proactively identify high-risk activities using detailed scheduling for early hazard detection and control measure implementation. All parties involved in planning should utilize the hierarchy of risk control to manage hazards effectively. Safety planning should be collaborative and involve trade partners, individual workers, and subject matter experts.
ENGAGE & EMPLOWER
9:45 am to 10:45 am
Engagement and empowerment are key drivers of a successful and safe work environment. Engaged employees are more committed to excellence and are more likely to ensure safety and quality. Empowered employees feel confident in their abilities and are more likely to take initiative, identify potential hazards, communicate concerns, and suggest improvements. By fostering open communication, recognizing and appreciating efforts, involving team members in decision-making, providing training and development opportunities, and delegating responsibilities, we can build a culture of trust and mutual respect.
SAFETY PEER GROUP ROUNDTABLE/OPEN DISCUSSION:
11:15 am to 12:30 pm
ABC’s Safety Peer Group comprises safety directors from across the region. This group gathers annually to review best practices, meet with MOSH, discuss new safety regulations, and more. During this session, Peer Group members will discuss their roles and engage with attendees.
