CONSTRUCTION 101 – the basics for those working in the industry but NOT trained in the industry (3-day virtual course)
This class will meet via ZOOM on Feb 22nd, 27th and 29th from 4 to 6 pm.
Ever wish you knew more about the construction industry? How about your accountant, business development professional or your office manager – does their lack of first-hand experience hold them back from achieving all you hope them to? If so, this program is for you! This four-session course will help the participant gain a better understanding of the industry and how ‘things work.’ Learn key terminology, industry standards, size & diversity.

This course will leave attendees with a base knowledge of how a construction project or process is handled from start to completion. Students will learn how construction firms are organized and gain a basic understanding on key concepts such as blueprint reading, contracts, change orders, submittals, progress schedules and experience the estimating and bidding process.
CONSTRUCTION 201 – A deeper dive into the basics for those working in the industry but NOT trained in the industry (3-day VIRTUAL course)
NOTE: THIS CLASS IS A FOLLOW UP TO THE CONSTRUCTION 101 TRAINING ABC OFFERS. IT IS NOT A PREREQUISITE BUT IS ENCOURAGED PRIOR TO TAKING THE 201 TRAINING.
This class will meet via ZOOM on April 8th, 10th, 15th from 4 to 6 pm.

This course has been designed as a follow up to and builds on the Construction 101 course and provides a deeper dive into Project Management and Superintendent fundamentals. Students will learn how construction firms manage the construction process from set up to turn over and will gain a basic understanding on how projects are managed from the field. Key topics include document management & control, project management tools, material tracking, contracts, change orders, submittals, progress schedules, site utilization, subcontractor coordination, punch list, inspections, and safety management.
