Empowering Financial Wellness in the Workplace: A Guide for HR Professionals to Recognize, Understand, and Support Employee Financial Health

This presentation is geared to HR professionals as they assess the needs of their staff around the idea of financial wellness. Participants will recognize signs of their employee’s distress and challenges, develop empathy and knowledge of staff’s distorted thoughts around their financial life, and learn concrete steps HR professionals can take to encourage the Financial Wellness of their staff.
Participants will examine why financial wellness matters, obstacles that keep people unwell, what financial wellness looks like, and tools to help grow towards financial wellness. Encouraging and non-judgmental, this presentation allows participants to examine their own thoughts and behaviors, as well as those of their employees.
Lunch is provided, and registration is required.
Our speaker:
With over twenty (20) years of experience in the financial services industry, Joan Pugh, CCUFC, currently holds the position of Senior Relationship Manager at First Financial Federal Credit Union. She works directly with the Baltimore County Schools senior leaders and human resources staff to help guide the school system employees to achieve their financial goals and optimal financial health.
Joan attended Towson University and is a former educator in the Baltimore County Schools. She is a Certified Financial Wellness Facilitator and a Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC). Through her experience, passion, and education, Joan assists and empowers members to improve their financial well-being. She speaks regularly to groups emphasizing the importance of real-world financial literacy, presented in a no shame, no blame format.
