Fire Alarm Basics, 4-Night Course on Mondays

$325.00 – $475.00This is a 12-hour series of courses scheduled to take place at ABC’s Construction Education Academy (CEA) from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
Classes are scheduled for April 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th.
This basic fire alarm course will be to learn about building fire alarm system components. An overview on how to install, test, and troubleshoot building fire alarm systems.
This course is for any students with little to no knowledge of a building fire alarm system. Upon completing this basic fire alarm course students will have basic skills and knowledge how to install, troubleshoot, and test a building fire alarm system. Students shall have basic electrical experiences in installing electrical wiring systems.
- Day – 1: Learn proper installation of fire alarm control panel and peripheral devices.
- Day – 2: Learn proper wiring of supervision field circuits and devices.
- Day – 3: Learn proper testing procedures of fire alarm system and devices.
- Day – 4: Learn troubleshooting techniques for system ground faults, short circuits, and open circuits.
Students will need to have their basic hand tools and a multi-meter for this course.
Meet the Instructor:
Tye Muhammad has been working in the electrical and life safety industry for over 36 years. He is currently employed as a department manager with a local electrical and life safety company. He successfully ran his owned electrical contracting business for about seven years until he sold it.
He currently holds three electrical master licenses in Virginia, Maryland, and DC. His passion is the electrical, fire alarm, life safety industry. He is currently NICET level III certified in fire alarm systems. He enjoyed teaching and educating people about building electrical system, fire alarm systems and life safety systems. He also teaches electrical apprenticeship classes at a local community college.
