Construction Executive’s 2023 Construction Economic Update and Forecast

Anirban Basu, chief economist for Associated Builders and Contractors, returns for the first of his 2023 quarterly economic forecast webinars.
Basu will review the circumstances at the end of Q1 2023 and discuss the risks and opportunities for the industry during the rest of the year. Basu’s presentations provide insights into the metrics that contractors need to know for their strategic planning, including the latest on labor force participation and construction employment rates, a review of materials prices, as well as the latest on the risk of a recession.

Anirban Basu is chairman and chief executive officer of Sage Policy Group Inc., an economic and policy consulting firm in Baltimore. In 2007 and 2016, Basu was selected by the Daily Record newspaper as one of Maryland’s 50 most influential people. Plus, the Baltimore Business Journal has named him one of the region’s 20 most powerful business leaders.
