ABC SKILL DAYS
Drywall Installation – 8 hours
Friday, May 13; 8 am to 4 pm

This course will cover the various types of gypsum drywall, their uses, and the fastening devices and methods used to install them. The module also contains detailed instructions for installing drywall on walls and ceilings using nails, drywall screws, and adhesives. A discussion of fire- and sound-rated walls is also presented.

Following this one-day training, your employee will be able to:

Learning Objectives:

• Identify components of a drywall assembly 
• Describe the installation of drywall.
• Contract rated assemblies to nonrated assemblies

Performance Tasks: 

• Select the type of thickness of drywall required for an installation
• Install gypsum drywall panels on a stud wall and ceiling using any or all of the following fastening systems:
  • Nails
  • Screws
  • Adhesives
• Estimate material quantities for an installation
